ZERO tolerance?

Postby GS78 » Tue, 09 Mar 2010 06:59:54

I always hear that public schools are suppose to be the epicenters of tolerance and diversity...

Six year old suspended for hand gesture
… no, not that hand gesture, one much more benign.

A six-year-old Michigan boy was suspended for making a gun gesture with his hand.

That’s right, hoplophobia and Big Brother Nanny-ism has reached a new low in Michigan.

From Fox News:

Erin Jammer, said her son, Mason, was just playing around when he made the gesture Wednesday, the Grand Rapids Press reported.

"I do think it's harsh for a six-year-old. He's six and he just likes to play. Maybe what you could do is take his recess away. He's only six and he doesn't understand any of this," Erin Jammer said.

But officials at Jefferson Elementary School said the behavior made other students uncomfortable, and they suspended Mason for the remainder of the week, the paper reported.

Anti-gun activism is rampant at all level of government. Gun owners must continue to be vigilant, and counter these sort of outrageous actions.

Good grief. What kid hasnt pointed their finger like a gun and said bang. I grew up shooting my fingers and any sticks I could find that looked like pistols or rifles.

Zero tolerance? You bet - against assaults on simple freedoms like this. We need to take our country back. Only now I think the only way is through serious prayer.

Best part about using a nice long stick as a rifle - after you get shot, you can use it as a crutch to help you get to the medic!

Public school is insane with ZT. The "Feel good" generation has all but ruined this country. We need some hard asses in office who will make tough decisions and get this country back on track.

There would be a less gun issues if they spent the energy that goes into zero tolerance into programs like Eddy Eagle gun awareness and safety programs.

The schools give my children plenty of instruction that I don't approve of. In a lot of cases, I can opt them out. Provide an opt-out form for parents who are uncomfortable with guns.

You know that tolerance and diversity only lean to the left.

I had some of my best times as a kid with a good stick. My mom once said she was going to get us sticks for Christmas since we played with them so much. We were dirt poor, but we would have been happy with sticks from her....

Yes, I'd love to see someone with enough gumption to clean up things. The problem is it would require so many like minded people in all the right places at the right time.

My fears center on a little fact that we often think about but never consider from a different angle -- over 200 years ago a handful of people revolted and founded this great nation. They backed down King George, his army and navy with guts and muskets. It took them some time and patience but they persevered and won. Here is the thing that really frightens me -- for the last several years the very same thing has been happening here and history repeats itself. A handful of people (liberals) started a revolt against our great nation which has now grown large enough that they could indeed back down what our founders created.

Think it cant or wont happen. Consider our founders, what they started with, what they did, and what resulted...persistence was key to their victory...these leftists are not going to go away or fade into the night anytime soon...need I say more...

The other kids were probably squealing and laughing, which made the teacher/administrator 'uncomfortable'. The finger pointing was uneccessary all the kid had to do to get the school upset would be to walk around saying "bang."

this irratated me so much that i just emailed the principal...

refereed to him as a "fear monger" and requested that he resign his post due to his failings as a American, a Professional, and an educator.... :bangin:
Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.

Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.
