Need a longer range near NOVA

If you got a good deal or great service from a shop or range and you want to brag about them, here's the place to do it. Likewise, if you are unhappy about someone's service or feel like you've been ripped off, we want to know that too!

Need a longer range near NOVA

Postby jrswanson1 » Tue, 29 Nov 2011 14:20:07

I feel the need to stretch out the legs on my Remington 700. Is there a range near NOVA that's longer than 300 yards that's open to the public?

340 defense in Winchester.

That's it as far as long-range public access anywhere near NoVA.

Someone  did a pretty good write-up on 340 Defense a few weeks back. Here's the link to the post...

Thanks, I remember that, was hoping for something a little closer to PWC.

Join the quantico shooting club then. $80 a year last I checked, and you can get access to the 1000 yd range 4

I looked into that earlier, they have a ratio of active duty to civilan members. I don't think they have enough active duty guys now to add another civilian, but that was a while ago. I'll try to check it out if/when I get the chance.

1000 yard range available to members at Peacemaker National Training Center. 300 yards open to the general public:

looks like a nice range.

If you only want public access to the 0-300 yard ranges the daily fee isn't bad. But I think the membership fees are a bit steeper than I'd like... me and the wife, $800/year? that seems a bit spendy.

A personal pet-peeve is for membership ranges that ban CCW. I realize its their choice as a property owner, and its also my choice as a customer to not to patronize such a business.
