Re: Anyone wanna discuss the elephant in the room?

I'm not worried about the natural stuff. First, regardless of what the Climate nuts think... we can't control it. Additionally, there are no more or less occurrences. There are simply more people on earth to feel the impact. So, it feels like its getting worse, when its really not.

Re: Looking To Practice On Private NOVA Land

kelly1244, welcome to the forum! I wish I new someplace close... truth is, all of the outdoor ranges I am aware of that either offer privacy due to low attendance or on private land, are somewhat far away. Anything local would be pretty busy. If jdonovan puts together that 101 type class, I would hi...

Re: Bucks for bullets LOL!

I just did the math... I can drive round trip, get a hotel while I'm there, completely replenish my supply and profit $3,600. I may have to take a ride. I just thought of something... My profits will be even higher because I'll have enough cash to buy in bulk and save even more. [ Post made via Mobi...

Oppose a Bill - Time to Write Congress

I m asking everyone to contact their Congressmen and request that they oppose any new legislation directly related to any new firearms laws, particularly relating to "simulated automatic" fire. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members What I sent... <insert congressman's name here> I am wr...

Re: Ranges close to Alexandria

JD pretty much covered everything. If you have any interest and ringing Steel or shooting past 100 yards, it's going to be a drive. Very few places allow auto-fire or simulated auto-fire if you're into that type of stuff, too. I wish I had some different/better news. You're basically looking at an h...

Re: .45 +P Rounds

There is some significant truth to that. I have read many reports that have documented that per the treating physician and combined witness reports, that the psychological affect is what stopped the assailant. One report showed a suspect was shot by police with a bean bag and and confessed to some c...

Re: .45 +P Rounds

Well... I sort of agree with you on all points. Technically, a the vein or artery will bleed the exact same amount, regardless of if it is cut with a scalpel or an axe. The hope of a bigger bullet is to cut more veins or arteries. That would lead to more blood loss. That aside, if there was a double...

Re: .45 +P Rounds

The crush factor really has nothing to do with it. It's all about blood loss. I don't want to get into the whole caliber versus shot placement debate again but it's really a combination of the two for effectiveness. The idea behind shooting someone in self-defense is, the blood loss leads to the bra...

Re: .45 +P Rounds

The bottom line is when you compare 40, 45, 9mm, and some of the other more common rounds that are about the same size and weight they all perform about the same. so now I'll quote myself, from post #2 So if they all do about the same on impact... why not choose the one that recoils less, holds mor...

Re: KAK Shockwave Blade Pistol Brace

That looks pretty slick. I like the looks of it a lot and twisting it a little off to one side as a great idea. I noticed when it's straight up and down and doesn't quite touch your arm as well. But having that set screw to adjust the angle should really do the trick. Thanks for Sharing the pic and ...

Re: .45 +P Rounds

I think you're right on all counts, as far as I can recall. The problem is you can do all the testing in the world and nothing's going to compare to real life. If you carry a 22LR handgun with 30 round capacity and you shoot the bad guy enough times and in the right spot eventually he'll die. Howeve...

KAK Shockwave Blade Pistol Brace

I bought this KAK AR pistol brace and slapped it on my SBR. I am thinking about building a couple AR pistols and going with Blade braces for them. They are much more light weight than the SB Tactical arm brace and I think I like the looks a bit better. Plus, instead of using a Velcro strap, you can ...

Re: .45 +P Rounds

They will all fire +P... once. LOL I'm not sure about a 1911 style frame...but Kar has the p45 and S&W has an M&P Shield that's rated for +P also. Me personally, I love my SA 1911A1, but I carry a G17. I may have enough ammo in a self defense situation with my .45, but my brain says "18...
