Re: NRA goes after Sen. Manchin over guns compromise

Kinda odd timing since if I recall he isn't for election for six years but hey who am I to tell the NRA how to spend there money. I guess they just want to more or less give a little show of force of any senators considering a vote change.

Re: Think You've Seen it All?

I visited PA a few summers ago. saw and learned a little about the Amish up there. Interesting people, we disagree on some things but from what I here they're pretty nice in general and I don't think many of their kids grow up to be criminals and welfare dependents so I reckon thats better than most.

Re: New Website Tracks Realtime Availability of Wal Mart’s Ammo

Maybe it's just me but I find Walmart shelves lacking even in normal times. They are LEAST likely to have ammo.

Re: NSA WhistleBlower Talks About Why He Did it

For better or worse, rightly or wrongly, this guy wouldn't be hiding if he was sure what he did was right. I understand the vindictive nature of the government and this guy would be in a similar situation as Manning if he had not run. He apparently says he is ready to face the consequences of his a...

Re: PRISM - US Gov has tabs on all your data

Sometimes you read the news and it's a little depressing but other times, like learning about PRISM, it's just downright scary. Makes you think how far from the founders intentions we've come.

Haha that's a pretty smart requirement. Bet he was making some big bucks that day.

Re: Self Defense against wild animals?

If your life is in eminent danger you can shoot it. Other than that it would need to be considered a "pest" by Game and Inland Fisheries. But I agree, contact animal control.

Re: Staples Equates FFL with Hate Groups/Illegal Drug Dealers

Re: Colorado politics in upheaval over gun control legislation

Man I love it, I'm sure the signatures will be contested and he might have a "stay of execution" until November but even if he wins a recall he's going to have to spend a lot of time and money to do so.

Re: VGOF Newsletter and Giveaways Suspended

What I don't understand is how they are just fine monetizing my YouTube account which consists strictly of gun reviews, but somehow have a problem running ads on a gun forum. Color me confused. Probably only a matter of time before they start killing gun videos. Very sad. Yeah, a lot of youtubers a...

Re: The Brits scrap the Royal Navy's last aircraft carrier

Sad, I hope I never have so see that day in America. Their carriers were of very limited capability anyways. As impressive as carriers are, I suspect like battleships, their days are numbered. A carrier was a great way to project air power, but in order to do so you must commit immense resources to...

Re: Winchester Defender 1300?

DryBones wrote:any issues? good quality gun for home defense? Worth $250-300???

I'd say worth that maybe more. I have a family member with a 1400(20 gauge) and it's really a nice gun. Very very smooth and reliable. The smoothness is what this gun is known for. I'd buy it! Here's a review:

Re: Man Arrested for Legal Carry

It amazes me how many people don't know how to handle a traffic stop. It should be on the learners test or something. YOU DO NOT DO ANYTHING YOUR NOT ASKED TO DO. 1. Pull over 2. Turn your car off 3. Keep you hands on the wheel and do NOTHING That said the cop was out of hand but the citizen made it...

Re: Question about Winchester or Front Royal

I camped in Front Royal on the Shenandoah River. Absolutely beautiful and a very fun trip. Seemed like a nice area to live in very rural. We canoed the river although it was a little shallow at the time it did some good places to swim.
