Sorry , but for our military I want nothing but the best and that is something in .45 calibre not 9 M.M. The 9 M.M. is a nice round for self defense with the proper projectile and velocity but these types of rounds would not conform to the Geniva Convention. If you are carryin a 9 M.M. as a CCW then this is fine because you have a choice of ammunition if you are in the Military then you have to carry what they give you I would much rather see them give me 230 grain ball ammo then 124 or 147 grain ball ammo. Just my opinion and before you flame me I have used both round's in a shooting situation. Bill

I couldn't agree more...if my only choice of AMMO is ball ammo, then the bigger and heavier the bullet, the better. A carry gun for daily carry is a very personal thing no matter what caliber, what brand or anything else. Unfortunately, you rarely have the luxury of wearing a gun for a week to see if you like it. All you can do is ask for other's personal experience. I carry a gun all day, every day. I bought an M&P compact because I KNEW that if the gun were too heavy or too bulky, that I wouldn't carry it and would have wasted my money. From that perspective, with my body type, and my tolerance for how heavy the pistol is, I did not choose a full sized anything. If you are a huge guy, a full size gun is no different for you to carry than my compact is for me to carry. I wasn't trashing the 92FS, just pointing out the impracticalities of it as a daily carry weapon and other oddities that I don't care for personally. It's good to hear all of these things, so you can judge for yourself what is important to you.

What are you shooting and from how far away. Is it factory ammo or reloaded ammo. Some of these questions need to answered.
Off the top of my head I would say you are looking at the target as the shot break's not the front sight. Bill

Hi Bill, I just now saw your post... I shot this; Distance was 27 yards/81 feet, with WWB 115 Gr. factory Ammo.About 50 rounds, shot from a sort of impromptu rest.(Ammo Can with a Towel on it) The Burris Fastfire II negates the front sight usage, and i try to hold the dot steady as possible...after a certain amount of rounds fired, the Compensator does work itself loose and I must re-tighten the Conical Locking Nut. There is also just a bit of play in the Guide Rod to Compensator connection. I do shake a bit. Cheers.

Hi Bill, I just now saw your post... I shot this; Hey Y'all The sight working loose will effect the shot placement everytime. It is the same with a Hunting rifle when people take the stock away from the barrel and action. When the stock is reseated to the action the ammount of tourque applied to the seating screws won't be the same and the scope will no longer be on target. Some time's you get lucky and it will be close , but most time's it won't. I always tourque my stock screws down to 15 inch lbs. and I always have a place to start from. Yes you need a inch Lb. tourque wrench for this. You may want to try some Blue Lock-Tite on any nut's or screws that hold the compensator in place. You will still be able to get it apart any time you want to. Bill Distance was 27 yards/81 feet, with WWB 115 Gr. factory Ammo.About 50 rounds, shot from a sort of impromptu rest.(Ammo Can with a Towel on it) The Burris Fastfire II negates the front sight usage, and i try to hold the dot steady as possible...after a certain amount of rounds fired, the Compensator does work itself loose and I must re-tighten the Conical Locking Nut. I like Berettas, and I own two (950 Jetfire and .32 Tom Cat). My friend owns a 92F 9mm, and he loves it. He gets a lot of feed issues but I believe it is the spring in his magazine, (he only has one mag). My girlfriend owns a .40 cal Beretta and she loves that gun also. So basically most people I know that own Berettas like them!
In 9mm size, I decided to purchase the Glock 26. Why I like the Glock 26 is because during my L.E. career, I carried both a Glock 17 and a Glock 19 for several years, and qualified twice a year with these guns. A Glock just feels right in my hands after all that use. I also was involved in shooting incidents during my L.E. career and the Glock always performed for me. The Glocks that we carried were fired on the range at 25, 15, 10, 7 and 5 yards for qualification. My Glock was extremely accurate up to that 25 yard target. We carried them in all kinds of weather and conditions year-round. Winter snow, rain, summer humidity, wrestled criminals in dirt and mud and got the gun dirty. I could break it down easily, run a clean rag across it and it would shoot fine. The 26 is compact, it came with two mags that hold 12 rounds each. The 26 will also accept the Glock 19 and 17 mags, as well as the 33 round extended mag if you want to use it. Just my 2 cents on the Glock.
It really comes down to what feels good in your hand, and what you practice with, and what you want to carry.
Cheers,
Tim
