Re: Just Right Carbines

Drum mags are notoriously unreliable. In many designs they also get in the way of the achieving a proper forward grip.

Re: WTB Glock 19 Gen. 4 - NOVA

You could probably find a Gen 3 for that price, but certainly not a Gen 4.

Re: Mr. Colion Noir: No One is Coming for your Guns!

No one is coming for the guns, but they want to ban all modern firearms and keep getting caught talking about confiscation. It's just propaganda for the uninformed.

Re: Reloading progressive press? Hornady? Dillon?

With the Dillon 550 and 650 you have to take your hand off the handle and drop a case in the on-press case "feeder". With the Hornady, all bullet and case action is done with the left hand and the right stays on the handle. Once you are used to using just your left hand for cases, having ...

Re: Reloading progressive press? Hornady? Dillon?

It is really simply. If you want a case collator, buy a Dillon. Without a case collator, I found the 550 and 650 to be PITA, so I was happy to go back to my Hornady. So, decision point: Do you want a case collator? There is your answer. I don't run a case collator on mine and it works just fine. Ha...

Re: Question OC

Went back to my Glock after I got tired of the extra weight of a steel pistol. I did as well. I think most folks who carry heavy handguns ultimately get around to switching to a lighter gun. My two current light carry favorites are Glocks and Smith and Wesson M&Ps. They are good value, reliable...

Re: Did we just hit the tipping point?

I suspect the real reporting of the various scandals has only started because the press learned about the Administration coming after the AP. It's a lovers quarrel, nothing more. I'm not so sure this is true. I spent decades in federal service. Military, civil service, federal LEO, etc. contain man...

Re: Question OC

I carried (CC and OC) a 1911 for about two years. Went back to my Glock after I got tired of the extra weight of a steel pistol. Carried it 100% cocked and lock; it's the only way to properly carry IMHO. Those 21ft drills are interesting enough without having to cock a single action pistol. The perc...

Re: NFA items under AWB?

The old AWB had a grandfather clause which meant that anyone in lawful possession could continue to own it. It only banned new firearms with enough evil features. Thus, any previously registered NFA item was lawful regardless and could keep the evil features. Any real assault weapon (real as in the ...

Re: Just Right Carbines

I don't own one and I should disclose that in general I am not a fan of pistol caliber carbines. If I'm going to incur the weight and size penalty of a rifle, I'll take it in a rifle caliber. Calibers aside, here are my comments on the design. Pros: I like the caliber modularity, the use of standard...

Re: CCW and BYOB Drinking in Restaurant

I don't know what the case law is, but I'd be curious to know what they consider "under the influence." A BAC >= 0.08 like driving? Nope...just the officer's perception that you are under the influence. What is that from? Case law? Technically, I could eat/drink a fermented food, which wi...

Re: Libertarians plan ARMED march on July 4th in D.C.

http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=220539 Interesting counter. +1 If you want to perform civil disobedience, you must actually do something illegal. You can't do it with water guns or replicas. The fact that it's a felony merely underscores the severity of the transgression of the 2nd Amendment...
