Re: It's been far too long!

I think most of us are just keeping our heads down, and shaking them at the antics of the press and public. As I've been sayin' for 7 years here.... Something is comin' down the pike! M1 I did the same thing recently, took the ammo cans that were "half-full", and put all the ammo together...

Re: It's been far too long!

What's up?! Nice to see you back on the forum. Like JD mentioned... its a bit slow these days. Mostly a couple of handfuls of regulars. So what have you been up to? Family doing well? Have you been getting range time in? Any new toys to talk about? Ya, looks like the forum is slow. What happened? I...

Re: It's been far too long!

been somewhat quiet here as of late. I know I've been head down trying to get the new house ready for move in, and hopefully that isn't too far away. be nice getting out of the 'burbs, having some more space in the house, and probably the most relevant to this forum... my own on-prem shooting range...

It's been far too long!

Hi all. It's been far too long since I regularly posted. What's going on? Life's been crazy, but why should I drop my friends?

Re: Would you respond with deadly force to an attack like this?

As far as I know there have been two knockout game incidents where the victim responded with deadly force, one killed and one injured (with a knife) and the other injured with a handgun. Also as far as I know, neither was charged with anything. Interestingly the firearm incident involved the victim ...

Re: Would you respond with deadly force to an attack like this?

Remember, this man is not a lawyer, he just plays one on this forum. Please quote me where I've EVER claimed anything but that? I asked you some very pointed questions about your positions and you ignored them only to pile on ad hominem attacks or at least attempts at slight. You never even bothere...

Re: Suggest to me: Single Point Sling

I thoight one point slimgs were passe and folks were using two point because it has all the benefits of a one point but fewer drawbacks. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://vagunforum.net/images/mobile.png I think it depends greatly on your intended use. One point has benefits in CQB, but doesn'...

Re: stick up question

Repeating this mantra: "I feared for my life, He had a weapon, I would prefer to have a lawyer present at any further questioning. Thank you" +1 Expect that they will keep trying to ask you questions, but you do not have to answer and you should not answer (at this time, get a lawyer). Th...

FYI, I don't have personal experience with this (never had a fire). That's the summary of what I can find posted on the Internet from people who have had fires. Also, from talking to JD who IIRC, had more knowledge on this particular phenomena.

Re: Affordable Quality Gun Safes

For once I won't wrote a long reply. I keep things simple. The weight, cost, and hassle of these fire safes is too much to bother with unless you're getting much better quality than what is typically found (e.g. Brown Safes). The security isn't any better than the basic gun cabinet because...

Re: Suggest to me: Single Point Sling

I'm a Mapul MMS fan (http://store.magpul.com/category/51) , although my Troy is nice too. Here are some things to consider. 1. Thick webbing or padding is always preferred. The Troy is padded nicely. 2. Attachment mechanism. I prefer the QD mechanisms or clips. I'm not a fan of threading the webbing...

Re: home protection

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... 29mEJFFIvo My problem is that the basic premise is flawed. The problem is multifaceted and they are only evaluating one parameter of it. An even "safer" solution is to not use a firearm at all, can't have misses if you're not shooting anything. ...

(1) trying to figure out a practical way to deal with attacks like this A surprise, violent attack is very difficult. The best thing is to practice avoiding and evading. Avoid going to high crime places, avoid being out late at night, avoid large groups (particularly those who are statistically lik...

Re: Would you respond with deadly force to an attack like this?

I am glad you did your research on prima facie evidence, and now, I hope you understand that prima facie evidence can be a shot to the back. And, i hope you understand now that your accusation was incorrect. A claim and valid claim are two different things. Did you not read the other examples? I co...

G: i dont think you understand what prima facie evidence is. If you did you would not be arguing that other things could be going on. Re: Would you respond with deadly force to an attack like this?

My search has been relatively quick and dirty, as you apparently know differently and will bring case law to bear that outweighs this, but the following case: COMMONWEALTH of Virginia, v. Victoria Shelton SANDS. Record No. 010071.-- November 02, 2001 Is not the same as there was sufficient time ela...
