I've heard some good things about Gunzilla and I'd like to try it but I've only seen it available online. Does anyone know you can get this anywhere near Richmond VA? I'd rather not pay shipping on something like this.

What in heaven's name are yall talking about? Gunzilla and froglube....sounds like a bad porno flick, exactly what are they?

Sorry I'm slightly...well drunk right now! Yeah yeah I know it's bad but well you need to cut loose once in a while.

I've seen some folks selling at the Chantilly Gun Show. I suspect someone at a Richmond gun show will have it. Do you need another excuse to go?

Amazon sells it. They offer free super saver shipping too on the 16 ounce bottle. Just an idea if you can't find it locally.

Essentially it's a bicycle chain lube. Some have PTFE and some have Moly.

I use Krytech (has moly) or Pedro's Extra Dry. Krytech is a moly in a thin waxy base and Pedro's has PTFE. I've used it on my: Marlin 39A (the action) and my CZ-452 (action). Since it dries and leaves a film (no oil) the action doesn't get as dirty after shooting.

I also lightly swab my bore with Krytech after a cleaning. It makes the next cleaning easier.

chuckjordan2, have you ever used the finish line dry teflon lubricant? I've read some pretty good reviews of that. how is it different than the Krytech?

I have been using Gunzilla for the last 8 months. I am very impressed with how well it removes carbon. I use it on my AR 15 bolt/carrier/barrel. I use it on all my handguns. I like it and will continue to use it.

Here's why: It cleans just as well as Hoppe's 9 but has almost no odor. Don't get me wrong, I love the smell of Hoppe's but a little bit of that smell goes a long way.

Gunzilla is advertised as a Cleaner/lube/protectant. There is no product that can do all three things well. None. Gunzilla is a decent solvent but it is a poor lube and a poor protectant. I do clean guns with it and apply more to them before I put them in the safe for storage. I remove the Gunzilla and apply regular oil when I take them out to shoot. In the case of guns that I will be shooting sooner than later I clean with Gunzilla and lube with regular oil.

Been using EEZOX for years and have been happy with it. Read a lot about Gunzilla and decided to try it. Ordered some - prior to using, I decided to test it for rust prevention. Took 3 new 16 penny nails. Submerged one in Eezox, one in Gunzilla and did nothing to the third. Took nails out of the Eezox and Gunzilla and layed on work bench to dry till the next day. Next day, I drove the nails into a piece of 2 X 4 about 1" deep. I put the 2X 4 outside on 2 June 2011. On 4 June 2011, I sprayed down with a salt water solution. On 5 June, the untreated nail had a lot of rust on it and the Gunzilla nail was starting to rust. By the 21st of June, the untreated nail and the Gunzilla nail were both very badly rusted - could not tell the difference between them. The Eezox nail had no rust. Today is 4 July 2011 and the Eezox nail still has no sign of rust - not even on the head of the nail which I used the hammer on to drive it into the 2 X 4. It has rained several times per week for nearly the whole time that the nails have been outside.

hoppe's 9 a little smell goes a long way? i spilled a bottle once on carpet. the smell goes a very long way! ended up cutting out patch of carpet and padding. anyway great test for rust prevention jane28! im wondering how lubrication is. i use hoppe's lube and noticed it gets slightly tacky after awhile. hows the Eezox do any idea?

Yes, I've tried Finishline and I still have the spray bottle somewhere. It goes on like a gel and reminds me of the gel lighter fluid. For the price, you could try it in the bike shop first (on your hands).

I just use the Krytech more than anything else, that's why the Finishline bottle is someplace in my room.

Really, there are many good products out there. Take Ballistol, which was made in WWI by Germany, a (mostly?) natural product (mineral oil is main ingredient?)and it too works wonders on guns (bluing, bore cleaner).
