What would you do?A'ight, since just about everyone on here owns a weapon, and accessories, and understands that process, ya'll are the best ones to help with my situation.
As stated before, I am trying to lighten my load. I have way too much stuff, and it's time for it to go bye-bye. Not selling things because I need cash, I just need ROOM! So I started inventorying some accessories. As I researched, I pulled out an old Falcon Mini-14 Stainless folding stock, fairly good condition, I changed the gun over to a Choate fixed long ago, so this thing has sat unused for about 20 years now. As I research, I find this stock is kind of rare... E-bay sold one recently for $300+ dollars lowest prices were about $150 three or four years ago, and those were beaters compared. Which is nice, but the question begs, Should I just hold onto it because it's valuable, or should I sell it because I don't need it? In my "real" world (IE: Non-internet folk) it's running 50-50 "Keep"/"Sell". Wouldn't take up that much space, but I'm likely to NEVER use it again! So what's the friggin' point? I ask "WWRLED" What would R Lee Ermey Do, but that's just alot of screaming, and callin' people "maggots".
Re: What would you do?Tough call, honestly. If you were to hold onto it just because it is valuable, at what value would you sell it and how long would it take to get to that level? I'd hazard a guess that it's on the dollars/year order, so probably not really an investment with a good return.
[ Post made via Mobile Device ] ![]() And if Bruce Dickinson wants more cowbell, we should probably give him more cowbell!
Re: What would you do?Tough call. I personally only keep things that I don't use if there's a good chance that I'll need it in the future. I never want to be caught thinking 'if only I had that...'
If I know there is no possibility of future use, I sell! If you're going to make a profit, even better.
Re: What would you do?In my experience as soon as you get rid of something you will shortly thereafter find a use for it.
Re: What would you do?I'll take it off your hand for free! Problem solved!

What would you do?Why don't you go shoot it a bit and ponder about it then? Might give you some more insight as to what you want to do with it.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.
Re: What would you do?Nah! Dumping it. I have to follow the "If I haven't used it in a decade" rule.
Tried to sell some stuff at the gunshow. No Go. The gunshows have devolved into cheap chinese junk, military surplus, and AR headquarters. No Uzi's, No HK clones, No AK specialists, Oh no! Ya' gotta have three AR guys though! D'hell is that? Where did my AWESOME gunshows go? (sigh) Age makes memories more fond than reality some time.
Re: What would you do?
Let me do my best RLEI (R Lee Ermey Immitation) to advise you. "Listen here Maggot, look at me while I am talkin' to you. Why would you want to keep something you will never use around? It is only worth money if you sell it genius! Keep it around too long and you will die owning something you didn't use, then some family member will look at it and say "Look at this worthless old piece of $h!t, he didn't even have it on a rifle", then they will throw it away, and then you kept it for nothin' Are you ketchin' the hint yet Maggot?" Of course it is in the last place you looked, your not going to keep looking for something after you've found it.
Re: What would you do?I think the drill instructor has a good point. The only thing better than having crap around that you don't use is buying more crap that you will use.
What would you do?Got a picture of it?

Re: What would you do?I put all the gear back in storage until I can get the other stuff cataloged. Between a Choate 10/22 folder with the barrel shroud, Some Remington 870 stuff, and that Falcon folder, that's about the only stuff worth having.
I deal with it when I can dedicate more time.
