My last Tahoe had 185,000 miles on it and was beginning to give a little trouble once in a while. Reliable transportation is very important to me. I have said many times that I'd never drive anything but a Chevy Tahoe; that they were the best ride on the planet for me. But then came the GREAT GM BAILOUT, when Obama stepped in and screwed GM's secured creditors and its stockholders in order to rescue the US and Canadian autoworkers unions. Then, if you remember, he forced the President of GM out. And then to make matters even more disgusting, GM posted big earnings in a recent quarter, and instead of paying back some of the $65 BILLION they owe the taxpayers of this country, they distributed bonuses on the order of $10 GRAND to those same damn union members. More vote buying with OUR money.
So, after 6 or 7 Tahoes, I just got myself a Ford Expedition. The Expedition has improved a great deal since I rented one 6 or 8 years ago. Overall, I've got to say it is a dang nice ride. Some things about it I don't like as well as a Tahoe, and some things I like better. But I'll get used to the stuff I don't like. And I'll sleep better at night. The damned guv'mint really does screw up everything it touches.
