Shooting at Carl's Jr.

Postby MWhiteDesigns » Wed, 25 Jan 2012 17:11:00

What do you guys think?

http://www.policemag.com/Channel/Patrol ... -s-Jr.aspx

I would say its safe to assume the perp was on drugs. A taser didn't stop him. Tasers are no always effective. Connections aren't solid, thick clothes. However it looks as if he was tase right in the face. Who in the right mind would lunge at an officer with a weapon in hand? The officer was caught extremely off gaurd as well. If the K9 officer hadn't fired, the other could have been serisouly injured or killed. Release the dog? Ok, but the time it would take to release the dog and have the perp subdued would be enough time for that the ax to possibly be in your fellow officers head or your K9 pal.

However the lack of humanity among the "people" in the car is disgusting and I don't condone what so ever.

Job well done by the officer. He did protect and defend, although the perp did go down after the first three shots. I would have to vote towards an attempted murder by the police man for the following shots. When the man was no longer a threat it automatically becomes an assassination attempt or a simple murder attempt. Just mho, ya'll think 'bout that.

Seems to my the perp was moving (maybe going for another weapon) after the first office fired 5 shots, there would be no other reason for the 2nd officer to fire otherwise.

Well he definitively was threatening the officer's life. Hard to make a call for the second burst of shooting as I couldn't see the shooter.
