It just struck me when I saw this that Obama's NLRB can prevent Boeing, an American company, from locating in South Carolina to take advantage of better conditions, but BMW, a German company, can do whatever they want. This typifies all I have been griping about for years - - Our regulators put domestic companies at a competitive disadvantage vis a vis foreign ones and then whine because jobs get outsourced.

The AP (1/13) reports, "German automaker BMW is expanding its South Carolina plant and adding 300 new jobs. Officials said Thursday that BMW plans to invest an additional $900 million in the plant in Greer and ramp up production with a new X4 model."
The Charleston Regional Business Journal (1/13, Segrist) reports, "The X4 is expected to push production at the plant to around 350,000 annually. In the nearer term, annual production could reach 300,000 as BMW hires 300 people."
IndustryWeek (1/13, Cable) reports, "With the addition of the 300 jobs, the plant's workforce ranks will reach nearly 7,500 by the end of the year, the automaker said."
The Spartanburg Herald Journal (1/13, Healy, Dalton) reports, "The Spartanburg plant already builds the X3, X5 and X6 models. The X6 is a coupe based on the X5 platform. The X4 is expected to be a smaller version of the X6."
