My vague recollection, possibly mistaken, is that Colt revolvers have more issues with going out of time than other types.

I wouldn't even worry about a Ruger, as long as it was correct from the factory.

Anyway, revolvers do need attention from time to time. I had the mainspring on a 1917 S&W wear out, and ejector rods can get bent when you least expect it.

The issue with Colt, I have read, is that the hand (pawl) on the Colt is the weakest link in the timing sequence. Supposedly this is because the hand is the cheapest part to replace.
