"I wouldn't have done it, but it was my son," McKinley told ABC News Oklahoma City affiliate KOCO. "It's not an easy decision to make, but it was either going to be him or my son. And it wasn't going to be my son. There's nothing more dangerous than a woman with a child."

I used to live in that area and the people there are great and always help their neighbors. Here is a link that says not only is the community stepping up to help out, but an OK City law firm and a gun rights group have stepped in to help out financially as well. She apparently spent all of her savings to bury her husband, who died on Christmas Day. This will be with her the rest of her life and I hope she will be able to get some help to deal with the aftermath of the shooting. http://www.kfor.com/news/local/kfor-com ... 1533.story

That poor young woman had a rough week. Those of us who are inclined to pray should keep her in our prayers.
That said, I'm glad that she had the presence of mind to sufficiently protect herself and her son.
Statistics show that 100% of criminals who have died do not commit any more crimes after their deaths.

McKinley was on the phone with 911 for a total of 21 minutes.
Wonder how long it took the police to show up??? Glad she had a couple firearms ready.

I was so busy being concerned with the young widows state of mind that I didn't quite catch the ridiculous response time. I can't fathom that she would have had any reason to stay on the line, once the police showed up.
