http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/ ... 13371.htmlAspiring zookeeper and frequent Tiffany's shopper Newt Gingrich made some fresh waves in his wavy presidential campaign last week in Georgia, claiming the Obama administration wanted to force smaller vehicles and electric cars like the Chevrolet Volt on Americans, saying: "You can't put a gun rack in a Volt." One Chevrolet Volt owner took that as a challenge.
In the video below, the Volt owner -- also apparently from Georgia -- says he made the video to respond to the cheap shots by Gingrich made against the Volt, noting it's made and designed in the United States, unlike nearly every other hybrid or electric vehicle on American roads. All we'll add is that while GM says it didn't design the Volt to be a "political punching bag" and might not be the first choice for a hunting trip, it did shoot battery packs to ensure they wouldn't blow up if bullets passed through. (They don't.)
I don't know why but I found this funny and wanted to share.

And doing so is a point of pride. We've all done it.

And there you go... A self confessed turd polisher. No matter how hard you polish, it is still a turd. Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.
Of course it is in the last place you looked, your not going to keep looking for something after you've found it.

Ah, but I'll admit it. We've all been suckered into buying a lemon, be it a car that started running into problems and you knew someone was gonna give you an "I told ya so", a vacation that sucked and ate up alot of $ but you keep a fake smile on for the kids, the girlfriend that turned out to be a raging bitch but you tell your friends its OK because she's hot, whatever. And your pride makes you polish that turd so you don't feel stupid for having gotten involved in the first place. We've. All. Done. It. of course in the end you feel even dumber for trying, but if you learn from your mistake you're out some money and come out a bit more humbled hopefully and don't repeat the mistake.

Yup. Got one in my driveway now. Been through several gallons of polish, and still no shine. Maybe this next bottle will do the trick....

Yeah, Kreutz, but every REAL good ole boy (and I know you're making an effort, but you've got a ways to go) knows................... ............... that no matter how long or how hard you polish on a turd, it won't hold a shine, and you wind up with crap under your fingernails, which RUINS your dinner.

I don't think it's a good idea to put that online. WHO KNOWS who's checking? I love big-caliber and longe-range rifles and 1911 pistols, and I've got a few.

I can always use another 1911.

I can hardly believe that in all this thread no one has pointed out the obvious upside to having a gun rack in a Volt. Put one in, load all your guns into it, and snap a picture. Then, when the SHTF and the Sheriff, ATF, or the black helo guys come a-knockin' and demands that you surrender your firearms, you can say, "Sadly, sir, they all burned when my Volt caught on fire", show 'em your photo, and they'll probably BELIEVE you!
