Michelle Obama’s warning to gun owners

Nearly three years into President Obama’s first term in office, Michelle Obama finally said something with which I can agree.

At a recent fundraiser for President Obama’s re-election campaign in Providence, Rhode Island, the first lady told her audience:

“We stand at a fundamental crossroads for our country. You’re here because you know that in just 13 months, we’re going to make a choice that will impact our lives for decades to come … let’s not forget what it meant when my husband appointed those two brilliant Supreme Court justices … let’s not forget the impact that their decisions will have on our lives for decades to come.”

This was music to the ears of the small, affluent crowd of admirers who cheered and applauded. But to gun owners, Michelle Obama’s remarks should sound like a warning bell, alerting us to the danger ahead should Barack Obama win re-election and get the opportunity to alter the current make-up of the Supreme Court.

When Americans flock to the polls in 13 months, we will not simply decide which direction our country should take over the next four years. Rather, we will decide whether or not our fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms will survive over the next several decades.

Currently, the Second Amendment clings to a 5-4 pro-freedom majority on the Supreme Court. Just one vote is all that stands between the America our Founding Fathers established and a radically different America that Barack Obama and his supporters envision.

Kagan should recuse herself from the health care case. Any bets as to whether she will?

She recently recused herself from hearing the challenge to Arizona's immigration law. By the same reasoning - in fact, even stronger reasoning - she should recuse from the Obamacare case.

The two greatest fears for this election are some egotistical butthole deciding to run a 3rd party campaign, or people who refuse to vote for the Republican candidate because they don't meet sufficient standards of ideological purity. Either one of those could hand the election to Obama. I am not sure we could recover from another 4 years of this idiot.

I'd bet $ Paul splits the ticket. Romney (who will get the nod) better try and placate him with a veep slot and hope he takes it.

Since I'm sure no one here is suggesting violence against the POTUS, I'll assume that the "psychopath" in question is a yet-to-be-named GOP candidate that will beat Obama at the polls.

Yeah, I fail to see the point of voting for Romney. He's just a whiter Obama. I couldn't even make a straight-faced case that his court nominees would be any better than Obama's - at best it would be like Bush Sr., giving us Souter - because he's that far left.

If the choice is between Obama Classic and Obama Lite, that's no choice at all. Not that it matters, since this bus is already wheels up over the cliff. Changing drivers isn't going to change the destination.

You might just be right since most economists say that it may take 8 to 10 years to fully recover from what the last guy did. You remember him, right? President Bush?

And now you want to extend that for another 4 to 8 years by electing the French speaking aristocrat Mitt Romney? A guy who has never lived in the real world his entire life? And whose economic program is the same as what got us into this mess?

His idea of a hardship was living with a French family in France while completing his obligatory missionary work for the LDS (Mormon) Church. If given half a chance he will gut every program ever devised for the Middle Class.

If you loved the Iraq war, you're going to love Romney's war with Iran. He virtually guaranteed it. If he's elected you can book it, here we go with Shock and Awe II! You can also book it that not one of his 5 sons will be anywhere near Iran when the shooting starts.

I'm almost inclined to say go for it, and be amused when Rowney and his pals complete the royal screwing of the Middle Class that has been going on for 30 plus years.

Make no mistake about the sound and fury with all these Republican candidates running for President. It's all for show. The Republican elite decided long ago that Mitt Romney is the nominee, and as always the elite expect the Republican rank and file to fall inline and support their nominee. There is no reason to believe that they will challenge the Republican elite because In the end they never do.
