It's well known among Illinois gun circles that anti-gun advocate Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (IL-2 D) has a FOID card and is a regular customer at a gun shop in the South Suburbs. Yes, double standards abound.

JJJ is also currently seeking mental health treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for Bipolar Disorder. Hope he is feeling better but here's the crux of the matter, since he has now been in a mental health institution w/i the last five years, according to the FOID act, he is ineligible to possess a FOID card or firearms w/i this state:

(iv) He or she has not been a patient in a mental institution within the past 5 years and he or she has not been adjudicated as a mental defective;

Note: this is for initially obtaining one.

Jay, politicians never engage in "Some animals are more equal than other" activity!

I am interested to see what comes of it. What would happen if he committed a crime with a firearm? Would the media jump all over him, or would they say what a poor guy?

Someone need to ensure that the state is notified and the his FOID card is revoked and his firearms are removed from his premises and either sold or given to a family member who is qualified to posses. otherwise we as citizens of this country would be negligent if something were to happen

Take his permit and auction off his guns to pay for the free healthcare I'm sure he is getting.

You're just on a roll with the racism lately, aren't you? First the "negroid" comment in the cop-vs-dad thread, and now this. I've listed my non-PC credentials elsewhere on these boards, so suffice to say it here that you're not being courageous and speaking the truth when all others are too afraid. Negroid is a common word used to define what race someone is. If you've ever taken a sociology class, you'd know that. I don't see a reason to get all upset, so cool your jets bro.

I state the facts and that's it. I tell it like it is and if you don't like it, I don't care. Take a number.

FWIW, I did say sorry if I offended anyone.

I have many negroid friends who enjoy bashing the NAACP as well. They also despise Obama almost as much as me too.

Let's keep the discussion on the original topic, which deals with gun ownership by a renowned gun grabber. Racially disparaging remarks or epitaphs will not be tolerated here.

I have spent a few years of my life in the medical field and going to college classes pertaining to such and having done so I have been educated to use this term. If someone finds it offensive, it would seem in my opinion that they are looking for a confrontation concerning racism. Is this not the general consensus?

Either way, I thought this forum was one where folks could speak their mind without fear of someone pulling the race card over and over. If you look at jamies posts, you'll notice that he does it often.

Back on topic...

I loathe Jesse Jackson. I'll just be blunt and upfront about that. I loathe his hypocrisy; that should go without saying.

HOWEVER, having said that, allow me to caution against spite. If we begin to advocate relieving the man of his guns, we begin, also, to give credence to some of the garbage that he has been preaching. While we may not intend this, that's the implication, and that's how it will get spun.

Tell me: In your college classes where you learned clinical terms like "negroid" that you claim to use with such detachment and no insult intended , which one taught you to refer to the activities of the NAACP as "monkey poop"?

I grew up in Illinois and had a FOID card from the age of 14 or so...hmm...maybe I was 16... I don't remember. I do recall having to show my FOID card to buy .22 LR ammo at Wal-Mart.

The activities of the NAACP is monkey poop. That's my opinion and I'm I titled to that. I have nothing to prove to you and I already stated which course had a book with the term negroid in it.

Until you read something along the lines that "I hate all other races other than my own" please refrain from calling me a racist as it offends me deeply.
