....... I'm not sure I get much of a feelgood rush or any of that other hokum out of it.
http://www.vimeo.com/15184546 Thing is, eagles are no longer endangered. There's no real sound rationale for devoting all these resources to salvaging one bird (not to mention severely stressing it and perhaps torturing it). Oh, it's a "good work", all right. And I know the bald eagle is our national emblem. But it's just one bird. Wouldn't the resources have been better spent doing dental work for a couple of dozen kids whose parents can't afford/just won't bother to get it done? I'm not saying these folks don't have a right to do as they damn please; just that maybe their priorities don't jive with mine. If it was a beloved dog in that shape, I think I'd feel that the kindest thing would be to put it to sleep.

I don't think it's a good idea to put that online. WHO KNOWS who's checking? I love big-caliber and longe-range rifles and 1911 pistols, and I've got a few.
- Next Firearm:
I can always use another 1911.

Eh, like you said your priorities don't jive with theirs. I thought it was a good story simply from the technological piece. The problem-solving skills we have and the things we can make are unbelievable.
If it were my cash to spend I'd rather fix the bird than dental work for poor kids because the dental work is just a temp fix and they'll be right back where they were in a few months. As far as the bird being a national emblem, so is our flag and some people go apes#!t if that's ever mistreated in the slightest way. And that's an inanimate object!
