I had my VA Importer file ATF Form 6 around Oct 3. He's somewhat large and has been an Importer a few years so the form should be correct. How long does it take the ATF to approve the form?

I've googled this on the 'net, however some of the info is old. My German exporter had the export papers approved in September.

I'm buying older .22lr target rifles, so it's nothing controversial. They are older and one manufacturer did custom for a short period in the 60's.

I thought it was 60 days. The ATF online website contradicts itself so often and twists the rules around, it's not quite clear.

I haven't bothered my Importer with emails, let him do his job.

Is my odd manufacturer causing the issue? Or is the ATF just plain swamped? I know this administration is slow, but, I thought there was a max. time they can take to process?

Last time I talked to an importer (August-ish) he indicated his F6s were running a couple weeks. He was using the eForm 6, though, which substantially speeds up the process. Did your importer use the eform?
