As to the rest of it, I don't remember enough to reply. 40 years is a long time. That phrase just popped into my head this morning when I couldn't think of a subject line. I did get along pretty well when I was over there just after the Berlin Wall came down - after hearing it spoken for a day or so, an amazing amount of it came back.

Ich verstehen, ich reiste nach München viel Jahren alt. es ist schwierig eine Sprache gedenken.
