Huete haben wir schlectes wetter. There are about 4-5 successive ridges going up the mountain background, but you can only barely see the second for the snow. 17 degrees. It's enough to make a feller take up drinkin' hot buttered rum.

Re: Huete haben wir schlectes wetter.Sprichst du Deutsch? Wie interresant! Auch du ein Europäer Sozialist auch?
![]() O ja, der wetter ist warm sogar. Hier wir haben keine Schnee. So rattle my bones all over the stones, I'm only a beggar-man whom nobody owns. Oh, see how words as old as sin, fit me like a glove.
I'm here and here I'll stay.

Nur ein bischen. Studiert ich Deutsch in Universitat.
As to the rest of it, I don't remember enough to reply. 40 years is a long time. That phrase just popped into my head this morning when I couldn't think of a subject line. I did get along pretty well when I was over there just after the Berlin Wall came down - after hearing it spoken for a day or so, an amazing amount of it came back. (How Interesting! Are you also a European socialist? Oh yeah, the weather is actually warm. Here we havent had any snow.) So rattle my bones all over the stones, I'm only a beggar-man whom nobody owns. Oh, see how words as old as sin, fit me like a glove.

Re: Huete haben wir schlectes wetter.I got the gist of what you said; I just couldn't remember enough to reply "auf Deutsch."
Here's one for you: In Texas there is a town called New Braunfels , where there is a large German-speaking population. One day, a local rancher driving down a country road noticed a man using his hand to drink water from the rancher's stock pond. The rancher rolled down the window and shouted: "Sehr angenehm! Trink das Wasser nicht. Die kuehe haben darein geschissen." The man shouted back: "I'm from New York and just down here campaigning for Obama. I can't understand you. Please speak in English." The rancher replied: "Use both hands." "The Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference."
