IIRC, about 35 days, Fauquier Co.
Why do mass shootings happen in 'Gun-Free Zones' ?
Same reason they dont happen at firing ranges!

I don't know exactly what you are implying with this attempt at comedy, but I live in a very small community. I have lived in several countries as well as multiple states of these United ones. I would not trade a small town for any of the rest. I call the chief LEO by his first name. I do not fear stray bullets entering my home from cracked up gangbangers. I can walk anywhere at any time of day or night, unarmed and unafraid. People who live in other than small communities cannot say this with absolute conviction, unless they are accomplished liars. The reality is that most of the societal ills are borne out of urban centers, and cured in rural ones.

Farfax county it took me 46 days when on the 46th day I called and they said I could come and pick it up if I wantd it sooner......I left work early and picked it up.

On another note I don't think that the above post is a negative about small towns. Living in small towns most of my life and missing them now. The above post points out the positive of small towns, personal and quick service.

Prince William County took well over 30 days. I cannot remember exactly how many days it was, but it was close to the 45 day limit. When I called after like 35 days to ask about the status, the clerk advised me they were backed up and waiting for the judge to sign off on them. It came a few days after that call to the clerk. It was like a 38 to 40 day wait.

Bubba, I dont walk around the block with a pistol - and a knife. Our neighborhood is relatively crime free but the surrounding area is not and I see many of their ilk slinking around during the days when I'm off...

Greetings Fellow Patriots!

Took me about 20 days in the City of Charlottesville, Virginia. I am retired military.

Albert

PS: I grew up in a small Iowa town and am thankful for the experience.

Where about in Iowa? I grew up in Iowa and call Pella my hometown. I lived about 25 miles from Pella on a farm in between two small towns.

As I recall about 50+ days. At 45 days, after corresponding with Philip Van Cleave with VCDL I called the Roanoke court house and asked what the problem was and if they were going to issue me a temporary permit? All they knew was my application hadn't come back and they weren't sure about the temp. Went down and pointed out the law to them and got my temporary permit.

About a week later they called said my application had been misfiled by the police and had finally been approved and that I could come get my regular permit.

This was three years ago this coming July in Roanoke County
