House Passes Vote to Repeal Obamacare

Postby ShotgunBlast » Thu, 12 Jul 2012 06:51:01

Again. Of course it won't even come up for a vote in the Senate. Why not? We have a bill that has passed one part of Congress. Why is it not mandatory that it gets a vote in the other half? It reminds me of when the Dems fled Wisconsin to avoid voting on the union contracts. I say put your big boy pants on and respect our system of majority rule by taking the damn vote!

The real bad part is that the senators are supposed to represent the states' interest. The states are only being hurt by this while at least some people are going to benefit.

No government should be allowed to pass a law that exempts itself from that law.

Nor should an administration be allowed to sign a law that enables it to pass out "exemptions" like party favors.

I'm more puzzled by the hate on the individual mandate, which was you know, a conservative idea in the first place.

Careful what you wish for I guess.

Guess you missed the part where it was abandoned because it didn't work?

"So yes, conservative opinion on the mandate has changed. But I don’t think it’s right to suggest that most conservative voters or conservative policy thinkers ever supported it. I think what happened is that as soon as grassroots conservatives focused on the mandate, they hated it—and they were right to hate it, in my view-and both the politicians and that one outlier think tank responded to their sentiment."
