Henrico County Deputy Sheriff NDs Herself

Postby Chasbo00 » Thu, 15 Dec 2011 17:31:07

"HENRICO COUNTY, VA (WTVR) - A Henrico County Sheriff's Deputy was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after accidentally shooting herself in the hip while changing in the jail locker room, according to Henrico County Sheriff Mike Wade.

No one was next to the deputy when she was shot, however there were people in a nearby meeting room Sheriff Wade told WTVR.com.

He said the jail does have safety protocols designed to prevent these kinds of shootings.

Henrico County police are investigating the incident.

The deputy, a 10-year veteran of the sheriff's office, was conscious and breathing when she was taken to the hospital, Wade said.

He said the shooting happened around 7:20 Thursday morning while the deputy was preparing for her sergeant's interview."

It's interesting to read about this and the Federal plot to give the police new toys in the same day...

Just remember, she is the only one in that locker room qualified to safely handle that firearm.

Just like that idiot federal agent who whipped out his "Glock fawty" and waved it around in a room full of school kids right before firing it directly into his leg. That guy should have been fired, immediately.

And thus the problem with our federal workforce. Unlike the private sector, there is no fear of getting canned. Therefore, familiarity breeds utter contempt in many of them. I doubt any FLE personnel would be dismissed no matter how badly the Fast & Furious is exposed.

Incidents like this taint all of us handgun owners. Such events, usually publicized just like this one is, help the anti-gun crowd to paint us all as irresponsible people who may be a danger to others when carrying.

Henrico County voters should let the Sheriff know in writing that tolerating negligent discharges such as this one is unacceptable.
