Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?Hey Guys,
I was doing some research on some optics and what not and stumbled across a manufacturer named Barska. They have lots of options to choose from. I've read a couple of reviews and they seem to be pretty positive. Around 4 or 5 stars out of 5. My question is, have any of you had experience with them? Would you recommend their products?
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?I've tried a few and haven't been completely happy with them. The resolution/clarity ins't what I'm looking for in an optic.
They may get good reviews because the users aren't familiar with higher quality optics. If you've not seen/used better quality... how do you know what you're missing? Once I spent some time looking through better glass, I really can notice the difference and am willing to pay for the difference. The whole low price optics family, BSA, Tasco, Barska NcStar, to name a few are disappointing to me. But I also realize not everyone is going to spend major money on optics. As one forum says, pay once, cry once.
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?I bought one of their sights for my AR-15 a while back, and I have to say I was VERY disappointed. The one I bought was designed to look like an Aimpoint Micro T-1 sight. Basically, the unit was a piece of crap. The red dot stopped working after around a week of limited use (Fresh battery mind you) and when I tried to change the battery, the entire brightness adjustment wheel FELL OFF. Another note, the brightness levels are worthless. You need to have it on the highest level JUST to see the dot during the day.
My final say is this: Buy an Aimpoint. Save yourself the hassle. As the guy above me said: "Buy once, Cry once." "Does it shoot well?" "Honey......it's a GLOCK....."
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?I bought a used sig 556 swat with one on. The glass seemed ok to look through, but I could never get it to zero it seemed like the the glass was moving ever so slightly. I can't say that it wasn't abused or accidentally damaged prior to my purchase. I replaced it with an ACOG TA01. I don't know that I would ever try another as there are better American made scopes out there.

Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?
I've got one too... at 100 yds it works fine. At 300 I can't find my .30 cal holes.
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?
+1 Never owned one, but have played with them though. Their a lower quality optic that may or may not be a good value depending on your intended use. If you are shooting longer ranges, I'd advise you get something else.
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?Well my problem was solved. I was looking into buying some optics but I didn't necessarily want to spend alot. After your reviews I decided to hold off for a bit. HOWEVER, I then ran across a local add for an Aimpoint Comp M2 Reflex Red Dot Sight.... for $200!!!! SOLD! Now I just need to find a decent Rail mount for it and I'm set!
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?I have a Barska on a .22, and it's fine for that... Dunno about higher ranges. Glad you found an Aimpoint you like! Congrats.
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?
Of course, you have to make sure it's not a counterfeit...
Re: Have you heard of the Manufacturer Barska?
I made sure I verified it before I purchased it. Original box. Correct number of settings, diode in the right place, adjustment screws correct etc.
