My daughter will be c.c. when she turns 21 in sept. And just informed me that she wants a pink gun with mossberg camo grips. She then told me to "get it done". So.......does anyone know a local party that can duracoat a handgun for my daughter? Any help will be appreciated!

Duracoat has a color for that - No. 66 Pink Lady. I'm told that to be really durable, Duracoat has to cure for some weeks after it dries to the the touch (time depending on the temperature and humidity).

You can ask me in about a month or six weeks about the Duracoat work. MIne is decidely more tame that Pink Lady - just an old fuddy duddy who went with OD and Black. LOL

I'm picturing people's reaction to seeing a pink Glock with Camo grips. She is really creative!

I would consider hydro dipping it. Lots of styles and solid colors to choose from and it is somewhat cheap and very durable.

Not knowing what kind of pistol you are talking about, I have seen several Pink revolvers at Nuckol's Gun Works in Staunton in the past. I don't know what their current inventory is, but you can contact them at 540-886-3061. As for the camo, is she talking about "Mossy Oak"? Because I don't know of something called "Mossberg" camo.

Thank you for the replies. She will start out with a 9mm or .40 for cc. I will check into the merchants ya'll referenced, and I didn't know that hydro dipping was an option. I have heard of a cure time for duracoating. There is supposed to be a baked or heated version. I will be checking in and when its done I'll post some pictures of the finished product. Oh yeah, it might be mossy oak camo and not mossberg camo. This thing is either going to start a trend or flop and bounce hard and repeatedly! As long as my baby girl loves it, I'm happy.

Oh yea - have to make the baby girl happy! Been there and done that! If a pink and camo color scheme fails, then Dad can just get it re-coated!

Seriously, I hope she gets a good reliable self defense pistol.

Look around and you will find some nice items made in pink from the manufacturer. There are some that are part of organizations to get money for the fight against cancer, and others that are just a gimmick to get money.

There is a shop near me here in Commie Mass that has the S&W MP15-22 in the pink tiger ammo. The pictures of it look nice, but its allot better in person. Now only if they would make the urban paint scheme and sell those.

There actually is a combination of pink and mossy oak - so maybe you can outfit her with a lot of Mossy Oak Pink combo gear! On second thought, maybe that might thin the wallet a little too much. She would really have a pretty unique handgun.

I appreciate the heads up on cabelas. My daughter has actually mentioned getting a pink camo jacket in the past and now I have a place to look. As for the wallet, she'll only turn 21 once.

I'm seriously considering that particular Bersa for my wife. Or getting her whatever she really wants and having that gun hydro-dipped or duracoated.

Does anyone have experience with hyrdo design process? How well does the coating stand up to use & abuse?

Totally understand. Daughters are special and Dads want to protect them - as I can attest times two. My son is just starting to teach his 10 year old daughter to shoot & Grandpa is all for it.

I only have two hydrographic print guns, they seem to be holding up pretty well - better than the powder-coated ones, actually.

Diomed -- thanks for your response. It sounds like it's a viable alternative to duracoat at the very least. I'm glad to hear since the hydrographic place linked above isn't too far away. Thanks!
