.223 Tracers on sale for $0.50 eachI'll take a few at that price. I always loved shooting the .50 cal tracers when I was underway in the Navy.

Re: .223 Tracers on sale for $0.50 eachJust be aware practically no ranges will let you shoot them. Also, you're not shooting them on "my" private land either.

Re: .223 Tracers on sale for $0.50 eachYou might could do it at the Cove. I'd wait for a more damp season though.
If you do find somewhere, let us know. I have a lot of tracers gathering dust.
Re: .223 Tracers on sale for $0.50 eachI wonder if Rick could take a crew about 20 miles off shore for some target practice. No worries about setting anything afire out there...except of course the boat...I wonder how well such a scheme might work and I do understand it might have to be closer in...all that business about international waters and what not...

Coast Guard would likely mistake us for gun/drug runners and since we'd be firing, they would start in too...just not exactly in a safe range direction. ![]()
Re: .223 Tracers on sale for $0.50 each
I thought about that... I think 20 miles is a bit more than necessary though. Maybe more like 4 or 5 miles? Would make for a nice fireworks display! Rick

Of course, taking the fun toys out of state waters means paperwork hassles...

Re: .223 Tracers on sale for $0.50 eachPlease understand, with the weather we have had this summer in VA, tracers are a severe fire hazard. They can and do set dried grass and leaves on fire. If you don't believe me call Fort Pickett's or Fort A.P. Hill's fire department and ask them if they have to worry about fires started by tracers. They manage them by creating fire breaks in the impact areas and not letting them get too out of control. I know of at least one incident at Fort A.P. Hill that a fire from the impact area managed to get big enough too shut down route 301 which runs right through the post. I think it also may have shut down I 95 for a couple of hours too.
Re: .223 Tracers on sale for $0.50 each
You'll get no argument from me. Earlier this year, when it was cold and soggy and we were getting rain every other day or so would have been an excellent time to bust out the tracers.
