Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30Are you planning on meeting up with some Bears or Lions when you use that 45-70?
Hmmm, I have always wanted to get a lever action rifle. I will have to think on this one.
Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30Man, that is one nice looking rifle.Wish I could take it off your hands for you, but I know the wife's answer already, lol.

Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30Price drop to $550.
Also, I have one box of Hornady LeverRevolution 160gr to go with it. Willing to trade it for 5.56/223 ammo (if you don't have any you could order me some, I'll show you were to get it from too) or an Aimpoint T1.
Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30How many rounds of .223 were you thinking about? I've also got a couple primers (LP/SP) I might be willing to part with...

Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30
Hard to say without knowing what the .223 was. I want to run it through an AR for practice, so something like XM193. Or I want the Hornady 75gr TAP 5.56.
Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30I have only ball. WWB and PMC bronze mainly if you're interested..

Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30
DK read Rick's post and smiled evilly as he gazed out the back window at the rain soaked landscape. The 336XLR was far more than just a nice looking rifle. If the truth were known, it was much more than just a rifle. Oh, much much more indeed he thought. The wood in the forearm alone was priceless let alone the metal which had been mined and forged long before the Byzantines unlocked the secrets of bronze. There was little doubt that Gunderwood had acquired the weapon by pure chance and even less doubt he understood the nature or true value of the rifle. DK knew. He knew very well and had known since the day he stepped from the other side into the real world. The rifle had always been his and soon they would be joined in a way even unimaginable to such thinkers as Einstein. All he had to do was give Gunderwood a few hundred pieces of worthless junk and wait for him to scamper away in glee. Then it would be too late. Every nerve alert and with his heart beating strongly in the human chest, DK literally strummed with excitement as waited for the call. The call that would signal the end of an extremely long quest and the beginning of the end. The call that would trigger the final countdown and set in motion unstoppable forces of Biblical proportion. The only thing in the way was Gunderwood. He, along with the rifle, were the key and DK was the lock. What lay beyond could only be unleashed if the rifle was freely delivered to its rightful owner. And even more importantly Gunderwood could neither be compelled nor forced. To do so would destroy the very fabric of time resulting in the complete and instantaneous destruction of creation itself. DK waited patiently and counted the rounds of ammunition as he practiced the smile he would greet Gunderwood with at the door. He bent to the task and focused. Everything had to be perfect for there was no room for error. He glanced at the phone on the table and began to count once again... Gunderwood understanding the true desperation of DK for the mystical weapon of the ages...doubles the price! ![]()
Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30
He suddenly stopped counting. His mind was racing madly as he surveyed the piles of ammunition. It simply could not be. He had miscounted the Hornaday by 250 cartridges. Not only that, he had already negotiated the trade terms with Gunderwood. Now, due to a humanistic error all could be lost. He quickly surveyed his remaining stockpile and sent another message. The terms would have to be renegotiated or all would be lost. The Others would not be happy and the results from that could be quite unpleasant. His eyes widened as an insistent buzz began in the background of his brain. It rapidly grew and filled his entire mind like a blaring klaxon. He started to rise from the chair only to be stopped by a darkness that closed upon his vision like a receding tunnel opening...the last thing he heard before falling over was a loud fart followed by raucous evil laughter. Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30VGOF News Flash
11 July 2010 - 3:44 PM Springfield, VA - The theft of a Marlin 336XLR 30-30 rifle reported by Mr. G. Gunderwood to the Fairfax County police and the story of a strange encounter has sparked a state wide man-hunt. What started out to be a normal day of errands and a supposedly legal private firearms transaction ended in tragedy after Mr. Gunderwood and his wife visited a private residence in Springfield. Mr. Gunderwood, obviously shaken by the encounter stated "I met he and his wife in person a few weeks ago at a group event in southern Virginia and he seemed pretty normal. He's a moderator on a chat site I frequent and seems well respected, but we were taken completely by surprise today. Simply unbelievable." Mr. Gunderwood declined further statement as he and his wife were led away by a SWAT team for further questioning. A neighbor who stated he lives next to the suspect agreed to an interview as police roped the entire residence in yellow crime scene tape and began a search of the property. The neighbor, who refused to identify himself, said he was working in his front yard when the Gunderwoods parked in front of the suspect's house. "I was pulling weeds and noticed when they pulled up. They were pretty hard to miss. It's not everyday that you see a red 1939 Packard" the man said as he sadly shook his head. "They got out and I could tell he was carrying a rifle. Not sure what the woman had, but it was one of those plastic shopping bags full of something heavy. I moved a little closer after they went inside so I could get a better look at the car and that's when I heard the screams. I looked around and noticed flashes like fireworks coming from the windows of his house and then all hell broke loose. The roof actually lifted up, kinda like it had been pushed up by air, and then all the windows blew out. I was too scared to move and trying to make myself crawl under that car when Mr. Zephyp, naked as a jaybird and covered in yellow paint, ran out the front door with that rifle held over his head whooping and hollering. I know you ain't going to believe this, but he actually levitated and then flew down the street like a jet air plane." The neighbor declined further comment and was visibly shaken during the interview. The story, though uncorroborated, is being investigated following reports of a "flying naked man" in the Lake Accotink area. THIS IS AN UPDATE REPORTED AT 4:48 PM BY VGOF NEWS FBI agents and a special team of government scientists reportedly employed by the National Security Agency were seen entering a Springfield residence today after reports of local disturbances supposedly linked to the theft of a Marlin lever action rifle. An entire neighborhood was blockaded by HAZMAT teams and Federal para military troops while local residents were led away by armed agents in protective suits. VGOF news helicopters were ordered to vacate the local airspace by what appeared to be Cobra attack aircraft. Pentagon spokesperson Lt Col Joe Smith stated "this is a normal response following the theft of a personally owned firearm" just prior to a hasty departure in an armored vehicle. Repeated inquiries to the Pentagon, FBI,and NSA have not been answered. No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Re: WTS: Marlin 336XLR 30-30So, I guess we can move this thread to the "Finished ads" section? Or should I wait until everyone gets out of jail?
