FS: .50 cal ammo cans

Postby pattonme » Sat, 28 Jan 2012 21:13:46

a huge lot can be found here: http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=5022334
or a dozen new can be had from http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ZAA001-1.html.

I don't know how much the auction will go for since I've never participated in the past.

But if I order the new ones, would anyone take some off my hands? I'd need maybe 6.

Looks like two 4'x4' shipping pallets. I don't have a truck or I'd be bidding on them. Anyone with a F250 class or larger truck shouldn't have a problem with the tailgate down and some straps. At the moment the price is just over $1 each. I'd be down for 1-3 dozen cans if the price were right.

i'd be in for some, too, depending on price.
they've also go some 40mm ammo cans in a 20pc auction lot. might be good for boxes of shotshells or sumpin.

i love the auction category on the site: ammunition and nuclear ordinance boxes.

I'll be placing a bid on a couple of pallets of the .50 cal cans. It would be nice if they stay at the price of the opening bid, but I have my doubts.

the new ones I'd let go for $20 I expect. That should cover the shipping from CTD. I'm in Alexandria.

This thread is actually two threads: one is about a pallet of really cheap but used cans, the other is about CTD selling new cans and not-so-cheap. i hope folks are keeping that straight, because if they're not then they are really not going to like those used cans for a high price....

Rick, if you're serious about bidding on the pallet of used cans, and somehow win it, I'd be in for several.

Depending on the shape of the used cans...I can't imagine that they'd be much more than $6-$8 apiece if picked up. Shipping will bring the price up a bit, but I'm not against shipping, necessarily.

Thank you for clarifying.

Me too. Number depends on price, but a few, anyway.

I was busy with work last week and didn't remember to check it out until after bidding had ended :( Sorry 'bout that.

Looks like they went for about $6.10 per can.
