Losing Malmo

Postby Kreutz » Fri, 06 Jan 2012 15:01:32

A good article on the Islamization of of Swedens third largest city. Bit of a long read but worth it.

An Islamic enclave in the West may as well be the West Bank, and the authorities the IDF. They are regarded no differently. That is why, as Soeren Kern of the Madrid-based Strategic Studies Group notes, “Fire and emergency workers . . . refuse to enter Malmo’s mostly Muslim Rosengaard district without police escorts.” And sensibly so: When firefighters attempted to extinguish a blaze at the city’s main mosque, local Muslims pelted them with stones.

There is a simple reason why this has happened to Malmo, and why it is happening in Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, etc. The European Union forced on its member states the same approach to their swelling Muslim populations that the Obama administration is now trying to strong-arm American cities and states into adopting. It is a suicide theory, holding that the only threat to our security is “violent extremism.”

Kreutz reading National Review!! There's hope for you yet... :friends:

It *is* a good article, though... it's frightening, when you consider the end result...

Happened to see it somewhere. I don't regularly read any site/blog.

Frightening indeed.

I am aware this isn't Europe (sigh), but it can happen here, though we should expect it to be Mexicans in their stead as the circumstances are nearly identical (both got their foothold as cheap labor, have explosive birthrates, and demand more and more concessions).

This article is a perfect example of how to make a prejudicial point by including a few facts, omitting others, including fabrications, and using logic that does not follow. First let's review what the article gets right. Muslim assimilation into old Europe is a problem that's a fact. It's also a fact that Western Europe has been struggling with assimilating immigrant populations of any race, religion,or ethnic group. Considering the hostility and violence that greeted each wave of new immigrants in the U.S. we are one to talk about assimilation.

It's true that fire fighters refused to enter the Rosengaard District without a police escort. Of course the article omitted that a part of the problem that had been ongoing about the closure of a Mosque in the basement of an apartment building. The police, however, do patrol Rosengaard. In fact, they increased their presence in the District after the incident.

The article also confuses the situation with a Mosque in the basement and the main Muslim Mosque that sits just outside Malmo. That Mosque has had 3 fires, the last of which caused severe damage. The National Review Article did not list another fact. The fires were all caused by arson. Here's another fact, a shot was fired into the Mosque destroying a window and wounding the Imam in the process. The multiple arsons, nor what the police called an attempted murder have been solved. Do you think Muslims might have been more than a little pissed off at authorities?

Also omitted was the fact that the police credited Muslim citizen groups working in conjunction with them in lowering tensions in Rosengaard.

After discussing Europe's immigration problem the article segues to the U.S. where issues are completely different. I know of no European Union Policy concerning Muslims that have been, or are being adopted by the U.S. The allegation simply makes no sense. The Obama administration's and the Bush administration's policies concerning American Muslims are the same. Bush and Obama refused to demonize Muslims as a group or their religion. They both sought cooperation not confrontation.

Obviously the article writer disagrees and wants some policy directed at all Muslims that would be based on the assumption that they are all guilty.

Gat the forest and the trees apply here. The article using Malmo as an example of the broader implications of Muslims in Europe, where they really do pose a literal threat to the survival of a liberal secular democracy as a whole.

Keep in mind Muslim societies are overwhelmingly conservative, Koran based, and autocratic. Bit of a stark contrast there.

Remember the case of Theo Van Gogh, who was stabbed to death (and his murderer tried to decapitate him but failed) for insulting Islam (fun fact, everything insults Islam).

Can people who's first response to criticism is murderous violence function in a civilized society?

I predict the "thats just one guy" retort, but the unfortunate truth is the individual would be supported by the rest of the community, see the riots by Muslims in Paris for instance.

Is it really so difficult to accept the incompatibility that exists here? Egalitarianism has no basis in reality you know.

I will leave you this "British" Muslim, who sums up everything I said better than I could, since irony is apparently not a very strong concept in the Muslim mind, or perhaps something is lost in the translation:
