That ain't because I don't mind P!ssing you off (I don't mind p!ssing ANYBODY off).
It's because I figure you ortn't to BE p!ssed off. I just don't credit the proposition that you ARE a liberal.
I believe you USED to be one. But I think you've been SAVED and just won't admit it. You might be a libertarian - - (is a libertarian a liberal with a gun? - - no, it takes more than just a gun). There's lots of difference between you and a mere liberal. Chief among them is that you have a sense of humor, BYGOSH! You also have a sense of proportion (at least some), and yes, it must pain a for a former liberal to admit it, but you've got a BACKBONE. That's very, very important in the transition from liberal to right-thinking -feller-fit-for-human-interaction; because a BACKBONE holds your HEAD up out of your ARSE!
Liberal my aunt fanny!
This concludes this lesson in political anatomy.

An interesting post, so none of the 5,000 plus fallen, and over 15,000 wounded had nary a liberal among them? I had no idea that liberals were barred from serving in the armed forces, or the combat arms. I'm guessing the liberal son-in-law of one my friends who has served 3 tours down range in Iraq and Afghanistan, and who will shortly be on his way down range in Afghanistan for the 4th time must have lied about his ideological orientation when he went to and graduated from West Point (His branch by the way is Special Forces).
I wonder who among you would tell this young man to his face, who politically is a liberal, yet who chose to dedicate his life to serving his country is somehow a liar or flawed, has no BACKBONE, or does not have the respect of every single person in this forum.
If your post was not tongue in cheek, (I'm assuming it was) it would be a sad state of affairs that we now honor only those who are ideologically the same as whatever we are. And here I thought we made no such distinction among those who serve the nation and go in harms way.
I for one do not question the backbone or the courage of that young man, he has more than proven himself where it counts by leading men in battle. Similarly, I don't question the courage, or BACKBONE of those who serve. They all get my respect regardless of their political, or social ideology. The same goes for those who serve as police, border patrol, FBI, Secret Service, DEA, U.S. Marshals, Air Marshals, Fire Fighters, etc.
Obviously passion runs deep in this forum. At times discussions are intense, and that's OK. Americans have never shied away from spirited debate, and that's a good thing.
However, maybe we should pause and reflect before we make sweeping generalizations, that can't possibly be true, about other Americans simply because you, or I don't share their political or social views.
The latest recipient of the Medal of Honor (MOH) is a young Sky Soldier from the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Does anyone know his political ideology, where he stands on issues of the day? I don't, and don't care to know. Does anyone else care?
