Zion XRD WallyworldWas flush with lots of stuff this afternoon, more than I've seen in 18 mo. I did my part and took some of the weight off the shelves.
Was wondering if I just got lucky, or are supplies easing statewide? Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...
Re: Zion XRD WallyworldMost of the Walmarts and Dick's that I have been in lately have had no shortage of ammo. I expect that sooner or later we will see the prices fall a bit....I haven't bought a box of centerfire ammo in nearly 20 years since I reload. Reloading components are pretty easy to find now. I expect those prices to fall a bit, too. Walmart has plenty of powder, but no primers. I don't buy much of either there, though. I can get them from other sources for less.
Re: Zion XRD WallyworldI stepped into a WallyWorld yesterday because I wanted to pick up a couple of boxes of 9mm. I was floored at the amount of ammo they had on the shelves.
The one thing the guy said he is having problems with now is .22 ammo. He said that over the last few months there has been a run on .22 and they can't seem to keep it on the shelves. Other than that they had a butt load of ammo for most shooters. ![]()
Re: Zion XRD WallyworldI think people are hoarding .22 as SHTF reserve and for trade bait...
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Re: Zion XRD WallyworldI think 22's spiked in popularity the past year or two due to shortages and price hikes on CF ammo. The thing Wally world has going for it is they have one of the best prices on Federal 550 "red box" .22, it is a surprisingly accurate and high quality ammo, and 550rds only cost $17.
Now, gun shows 'cons' buy all 6 boxes of the 550 that Walmart allows you to purchase, and sells them at the gun shows for $25-$35/box... ![]() WANT: SA V10 Ultra Compact, SA SubCompact, AR15, Any Kimber
Contact me if you have any of the above for sale/trade/barter/charity
Re: Zion XRD WallyworldDang It!
Winchesters and Remingtons Jumped $3 a box at Zion... Federals holding, but not on the shelf. I'll just keep reloading til it comes back down - the component metals aren't that high. ![]() Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...
Re: Zion XRD Wallyworld
Okay you got me, I'm a ,22 hoarder but it ain't for trading. ![]()
Re: Zion XRD WallyworldAt the las gun show at chantilly, i noticed that 2 vendors were seelling the same federal box of 550 22lr that i buy at wally world for $15-18 for $40
Re: Zion XRD Wallyworld
Well, actually what I meant by trade bait was if the SHTF then .22 ammo will be kinda like little gold nuggets are now...Hey bud, trade ya 5 .22 LR cartridges for 2 loaves of bread...or a can of coffee No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

They had a boatload of 40S&W and 9mm - I relieved them of their .38 and .45... SgtBill's here I come! ![]() Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...
Re: Zion XRD WallyworldJust got back from Wally World at Sterling, packed and loaded with everything.... except .380.... a pleasure to see..
gobs of .22 even , 333 and 555 's, not to mention CCi, Remington, & Winchester black/red box Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready. Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help. _________________________________________________
Re: Zion XRD WallyworldI'm still not seeing much .38 Special or the relatively cheap Federal 9mm. The expensive 9mm, they've got gobs of it. The 550 round Federal boxes of .22LR are now $18.97.
Reloading your own really is your saviour these days. I couldn't afford to shoot enough to get/stay good if I didn't. "San Francisco Liberal With A Gun"

Re: Zion XRD WallyworldHey Cowboy, since you dont live in Kalifornia anymore you can order it online and they deliver right to your doorstep...
Lots of good deals out there...especially on 9mm. No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...
