90 Day Stay Granted in DC Gun Ban Case

https://twitter.com/EmilyMiller/status/494178553500418048 The order issued by U.S. District Court Judge Frederick Scullin brings a temporary reprieve to D.C. officials, who were sent scurrying over the weekend to interpret the effects of the ruling that gutted the city’s restrictive gun laws. Read ...

Re: NRA says open carry of long guns is "downright weird"

I re-read through this thread and didn't see any discussion of the fact that it's not legal to open carry a handgun in Texas. Therefore, the only OC option is a long arm. If I remember correctly, it's even illegal to "print" while carrying concealed. If you're in Texas and carrying conceal...

Latest Guidance from DC Police Chief Lanier on DC Handguns

Looks like non-prohibited persons from Virginia can carry openly or concealed with a CHP in DC! Not sure how long this will last due to the stay requested by the DC Attorney. Here's the guidance provided to the DC police force: http://edsfiles.us/dcguidelines.pdf Here are a couple of notes: 1) DC do...

Re: Emily Miller report on DC Handgun Ban Nullification

So how does this decision effect if you get pulled over and you have an empty brass case in your change console or a decorative air freshener shaped like a bullet in plain view? They used to be able to arrest you for it. Will all the cases that have tried for those already be thrown out, and the in...

VGOF Official Statement: Do Not Carry a Gun Into DC

There's a lot of discussion today concerning the Saturday ruling by a US District Court Judge regarding the nullification of a couple of Washington DC's gun restrictions. Several discussions have indicated that DC Police Chief Lanier sent out a memo to all DC police telling them not to arrest people...

Re: Emily Miller report on DC Handgun Ban Nullification

One comment from Emily Miller's facebook page:

"Even though you will be allowed to openly or concealed carry your weapon all other gun restrictions in D.C. remain enforced such as type of ammo, gun and magazine capacity. Many will forget this and will be arrested."

Emily Miller report on DC Handgun Ban Nullification

So, if you're not a DC resident, you can carry. If you're a DC resident, the firearm that you're carrying must be registered in DC. Anyone else have comments on this?

Re: how y'all doing?

Also could someone tell me how to change the things at the bottom. I was not in the military and for some reason all those icons are on there. I do support the military, but don't want people thinking I am a false valor stealer. I updated your profile and assumed that the NRA badge should remain. &...

Re: Un-holstering a firearm in public

The cop was a Moron, that is not a law but the guy will still need to throw money at it to go away. The problem here is people take the easy way and Plead to a lesser offense in fear of the cost and risk involved with defending a criminal case, so the "Man" still wins. The guy was still a...

Re: OT - VGOF Shirts? Hats? Reason?

I had a run of shirts made a few years ago when my business was doing well and I could afford to shell out the cash for an up-front purchase of 300 shirts, but unfortunately, I'm just not in that financial position right now. I've also purchased "euro" decals on a couple of occasions, and ...

Re: AR Lower Reselling Question

MarcSpaz wrote:Once its listed with ATF, you can not change a rifle to a pistol; only to an SBR. You can change a pistol to an SBR or rifle.

I had no idea about this, personally. Can you cite a legal source for clarity?
